Nintendo Wii
The Wii is a home video game console released by Nintendo on November 19, 2006. As a seventh-generation console, the Wii primarily competes with Microsoft, Xbox 360 and Sony Play Station 3. A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detect movement in three dimensions. The Wii in Nintendo fifth home console, the direct successor to the Nintendo Game Cube, and able to play all official Game Cube games. By December 8, 2008 it has completed its launch in four key market.


Wii Remote
The Wii remote is the primary controller for the console. It uses a combination of built-in accelerometers and infrared detection to sense its position in 3D space when pointed at the LED within the Sensor Bar. This design allow users to control the game using physical gestures as well as traditional button presses. The controller connects to the console using Bluetooth and features rumble as well as an internal speaker. The device bundled with the Wii retail package is the Nunchuk unit, which features an accelerometer and a traditional analog stick with two trigger buttons. In addition, an attachable wrist strap can be used to prevent the player from unintentionally dropping to throwing the Wii controller.

Bowling
Bowling is a sport in which player attempt to score pints by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface, usually a wooden or synthetic surface, either into pins or to get close o a target ball. There are many forms of bowling, with one of the most recent being ten-pin bowling. Primitive forms of bowling may have existed in ancient times as early as A. D. 300 in Germany, and also in ancient Finland and Yemen. The first standardized rules were established in New York City, on September 9, 1895. Today, bowling is enjoyed by 95 million people in more than ninety countries worldwide and continues to grow through entertainment media such as video games for home consoles and hand held devices.


Health Benefits
Bowling is an anaerobic type of physical exercise, similar to walking with free weights. Bowling helps in burning calories and works muscle group not usually exercised. The flexing and stretching in bowling works tendons, joints, ligaments and muscles in the arms and promotes weight loss. Apart from the physical benefits it also has phychosocial benefits, strengthening friendships or creating new ones in groups.


Bowling Safety
Like any other physical activity, warming up helps to prevent injuries. Checking the soles of shoes for sticky objects helps to avoid falls. Since bowling balls are heavy with varying weight ranger, to avoid back and wrist injury they should be picked up with both hands. It's recommended to bend one's knee while picking up bowling balls to avoid back injuries. Bowlers should also warm up their fingers before inserting them inti a bowling ball, to ensure that their fingers don't get stuck in the ball.

  • Largest and heaviest pin, bowled with a large ball with finger holes, and the most popular size in world.
Ninepin
  • Pins usually attached to strings at the tops, uses a ball with finger holes.

  • Tall, bowled with a handheld ball, mostly found in Canada.

Equipment

Bowling balls vary from game to game. Ten pin balls are large, up to 27 inches in circumference and have as many as five holes for gripping purposes. The balls come in various weight as as 16 lbs, with the size and spacing of the finger holes often smaller on lighter balls to accommodate smaller hands. Balls for other games can vary, candle pin ball fitting in the palm of the hand, needing no holes. Bowling shoes possess an intermediate style between regular dressing shoes and the athletic type. The sole of the non sliding foot is generally made of rubber similar to that of a basketball sneaker to create stability, while sliding foot is made of a softer material that allow a bowler to slide inti his release.
